Each student will then write a brief paper on how the scientific process was used to conduct the study and evaluate the results. The basic rubric is as follows: 1. Summarize the purpose of the experiment – 20 points 2. List the hypothesis/hypotheses – 20 points 3. State any operational definitions, the independent variable(s), and the dependent variable(s) – 20 points 4. Summarize the results – 20 points 5. A brief proposal of your own variation of the experiment – 10 points 6. Grammar and spelling – 10 points
